Eduardo Verástegui and various personalities hold a summit in defense of the Ukrainian people
Prominent personalities from around the world and nearly 400 participants took part in the "International Summit: Ukraine – Life. Dignity. Victory" in Kiev (Ukraine), a space for reflection to find solutions for the people suffering the consequences of war.
The summit, held on Friday, June 9, was organized and sponsored primarily by Chalice of Mercy, a U.S.-based NGO whose mission is to help Ukraine by donating medical supplies.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Chalice of Mercy has collected and shipped $38 million worth of medical supplies and equipment to the European country.
Valentyna Pavsyukova, president and founder of Chalice of Mercy, who is of Ukrainian origin, said at a press conference that her country "is currently suffering a lot and is experiencing martyrdom."
"The summit initiative was created to find a way out of the position our country finds itself in," he said.
Some of the topics discussed at the summit include protection of life and families, demographic problems, family policy and national security, assistance to children and families, etc.
Among the leaders in attendance were Eduardo Verástegui, film producer and president of the Viva México Movement, and Jason Jones, human rights activist and president of HERO and The Vulnerable People Project (VPP).
Also participating were figures such as historian Joshua Charles, former White House speechwriter and best-selling author , and Bishop Vitaly Kryvytskyi of Kyiv-Zhytomyr (Ukraine), among others.
In his June 9 speech, Jones, whose organization has volunteers on the Polish-Ukrainian border delivering food, supplies and carrying out evacuation missions, said Ukraine's legacy "is under threat."
According to the activist, Ukrainians "need more than borders: they need self-determination, genuine freedom, the freedom that only comes with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the noble vision of humanity that follows closely behind it."
"While physical borders are important, cultural and spiritual borders are even more important. We protect our borders to preserve life, culture and dignity. Your cultural and spiritual borders must be defended with the same boldness and strength with which you are fighting to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression," he added.
