Founder and President

Jason Jones,

Founder & President

Jason Jones is a film producer, author, activist, popular podcast host, and human rights worker. He is president of the Human-Rights Education and Relief Organization (H.E.R.O.) known for its two main programs The Vulnerable People Project and Movie to Movement.

In 2006, Jones was an Executive Producer of "Bella," which won several film industry awards, most notably the People's Choice Award at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival.

In 2009 Jason was an associate producer of “The Stoning of Soraya M”, winner of the NAACP Image Award and the Los Angeles Film Festival. In 2009 Jones produced the award-winning pro-life short film Crescendo with Eduardo Verastegui and Pattie Mallete (the mother of Justin Bieber). Crescendo raised over 6 million dollars in North America to support pregnancy centers and women’s shelters.

Jason launched the Vulnerable People Project’s Hope for Afghanistan program after receiving a request to rescue a friend’s mother trapped in Afghanistan during the US Military withdrawal. VPP’s Hope for Afghanistan has since grown immensely in the last two years. Since the disastrous US withdrawal VPP has evacuated thousands of religious minorities and former Afghan allies, provided for safe houses in neighboring countries, and worked to resettle vulnerable Afghans. VPP has delivered over 3 million meals to families in need across Afghanistan; opened a women’s health clinic; drilled wells that provide potable water to several villages; and provided security for schools so children can study and learn safely.

At the heart of everything Jason does is a mission to stand between the violent and the vulnerable: from the child in the womb to Christians in Nigeria, to civilians in Ukraine to our former allies in Afghanistan. His tireless work in the pro-life movement was just recognized in a featured chapter in Legacy of Life, a book honoring fifty of the greatest pro-life leaders of the last fifty years.

Jason Jones is a senior contributor to The Stream.  The host of the Jason Jones Show. He is also the author of two books, The Race to Save Our Century and his most recent, The World is on Fire, released in October 2017. His latest film, Divided Hearts of America, is now available on Amazon Prime.

Jason has just returned from Ukraine where he was the featured speaker at the Life, Dignity, and Victory Summit in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Marilis Pineiro

Legislative and Diplomatic Relations Liaison

Marilis Pineiro was born and raised in New York City. She's always had a desire to serve God and others. While in college she discerned religious life and entered the Franciscan Order. The 8 years of formation and experiences she had as a Sister led her to work at the very heart of the Catholic Church, serving at the Apostolic Nunciature, the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to the United States.

While there she had the privilege of serving Pope Francis directly, as well as the Apostolic Nuncio at the time, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano. Her time there gave her a wide array of experiences, as well as meeting, serving, and working with many leaders of the Catholic Church and various Heads of State. Though she discerned that religious life was not her calling, her time as a religious sister gave her invaluable growth and experience to continue to serve the vulnerable of the world today. She is currently residing in Washington, DC where she is heavily involved with the pro-life movement. She has a penchant for standing up for the vulnerable and using her gifts to bring their voices to the forefront.
